Post 8: My favorite subject this term
I study theatrical design, and I'm on the first semester of my second year. In this term my favorite subject has been History of Modern and Contemporary Arts with the teacher Alejandra Morales. Unlike the majority of the other subjects I have, this is a theoretical subject where we learn about history of Arts. The dynamic is that she teach us with powerpoints and we have to complement this by reading bibliography that she send us before the class. In one point of the semester we are assigned to do one class of 45 minutes about one of the subjects of the unit we're studying, and that's one of the three evaluations we have on the semester. Unfortunately when we were on the strike (of 2 months) our teacher quitted because of personal problems she had with our university and other teachers, and we couldn't end the class with her. That's really sad for me because I loved the way that Alejandra did her class, and how she knew so much about what she was talking about, cause she was really passionate about it.
I like this class cause i love theoretical subjects and I really like having my notebooks and taking notes of the classes. In school, i've always liked better spanish and history than other subjects and I think that's why I love History of Arts now. I really enjoy learning about the past and the beginings of our humanity and it's evolution towards time, and when that's related to arts, it gets even better for me, I find it really interesting. On this term, we've seen neo romanticism, realism, impresionism, post-impresionism and now we have to choose a classmate and do a class about any of the different vanguards of the 20th century. I choose to talk about Bauhaus with my classmate Kristian and we have to present this Friday. I'm not really into talking in public, cause I get really nervous and start shaking and talking not really clear, but i enjoy a lot doing the research of the subject I chose, and when i study enough, it's easier for me not to get nervous when talking.
P.d: I also really like english, even though i don't come really regularly to classes, but trust me, i really like it hehe
