Post 7: A career-related website i enjoy visiting

As a theatrical design student i need to have a sort of  "image bank" in my brain. That "bank" has to be made by watching tons of images all the time to have ideas for my projects and to know how to draw a certain thing, texture or even for knowing different colours and posibilities to combine them. The ideal is that those images comes from different places such as books, internet, videos, life experiences, etc. But in my career we specifically are very adicted to use the website Pinterest as a great tool to find our references.
Pinterest is a website that stores tons and tons of images from around the world. It's like a Google of just graphic content, that includes not only images and photographys but also graphics, drawings and infographies with information on it, such as body exercises or makeup tutorials and instructions. This website has turned out to be really usefull to me when i need to find references for the different projects i'm working on, cause you write a simple reference of what you're thinking about and thousands and thousands of images inmediately appear and when you clik them, this new image has similar images that are recommended to you. This can be really usefull but at the same time we have to be carefull when using it because, for one side it's a little bit addictive and you can spend hours looking for images, and it can turn out to be negative, and for the other side it can close a little bit your mind and suppress your own creativity and imagination by putting so many outside images that are not yours, and that might condition your design in some sort of way. So, i try to use this webstite just when it's really necessary, and i try to combine this search by watching books and other tools. I think i use it maybe once a week or less than that, the majority of the times, for searching makeup inspiration. My final thought about this website is that it can be really usefull, but i have to be carefull when using it. I'll let the website right here: https://www.pinterest.cl/





As i was writing this post i discovered that Instagram is also a good tool for me cause i follow a lot of fashion designers and makeup artist that inspires me, and i also have a search tool on it where i can find more and more references and ideas. And i also remember that Youtube is a website that i use almost daily for watching makeup tutorials where i've learned almost everything i know about makeup since i was like eleven years old.

Post 8: My favorite subject this term

I study theatrical design, and I'm on the first semester of my second year. In this term my favorite subject has been History of Modern and Contemporary Arts with the teacher Alejandra Morales. Unlike the majority of the other subjects I have, this is a theoretical subject where we learn about history of Arts. The dynamic is that she teach us with powerpoints and we have to complement this by reading bibliography that she send us before the class. In one point of the semester we are assigned to do one class of 45 minutes about one of the subjects of the unit we're studying, and that's one of the three evaluations we have on the semester. Unfortunately when we were on the strike (of 2 months) our teacher quitted because of personal problems she had with our university and other teachers, and we couldn't end the class with her. Post 5: An important photograph

I have a lot of photos, cause i love taking them and keep the memory from a moment, so it´s hard to choose just one important moment or something. I choose this photo because i remember that that was the first day of 2017. This was 1st january 2017, i was on Tunquen, a very beautiful beach close to Algarrobo where i go a lot because my father loves it cause is a really quiet and unknown place. In the photo i was on a natural pool and i was feeling really full of joy and happiness, i was feeling so calm and optimistic about everything, for me it was a really good start of the year. In that moment i imagined that that was a great signal of what a good year could be coming. Eventually it turned out to be a really busy year, lots of things happened, but this photo still remembers me of hope a little, hope of feeling that everything is going to be alright and that we have to be thankful of what we can find on the way. Post 3: My favorite piece of technology

I use pieces of technology everyday, all day, from portable speakers to my smartphone or computer, and also the t.v a lot so it´s pretty hard for me to choose one as my favorite cause i use them all a lot and i love the way that those things can make my life way easier and comfortable. I have mixed feeling over technology; from one part i love it, i love to have smart t.v's that can reproduce music, videos and movies at the same time with an amazing quality of image and sound, and i also love smartphones because they can help us finding really quick information about the weather, traffic, other people, the news and everything you can imagine, at the same time that you have a really good camera for taking pictures or recording videos whenever, wherever. In your cellphone you can even watch videos or movies right from netflix. Then i love having a great portable speaker for listening to music wherever you go conecting it to your cellphone that has all the music you can imagine right ...
